Country music icon Dolly Parton has spoken out to calm the swirling rumors about her health, reassuring fans that she is not on the brink of death. At 79, the beloved singer-songwriter took to social media from the set of a new Grand Ole Opry commercial to address concerns, sparked by her sister Freida’s request for prayers.

In a heartfelt video, Dolly declared, “I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here! Anyway, I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease . . . and I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith.”

Dolly went on to express gratitude for the outpouring of love and prayers, emphasizing that while she always welcomes prayers, she is in good health. “I can always use the prayers for anything and everything, but I want you to know that I’m OK,” she assured her fans.

Reflecting on her health journey, Dolly shared, “When my husband Carl passed, I didn’t take care of myself. So I let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.” She candidly addressed the rumors, stating, “There are just a lot of rumors flying around, but I figured if you heard it from me, you’d know that I was okay. I don’t think God is through with me and I ain’t done working. So I love you for caring and keep praying for me.”

A representative for Dolly confirmed that she is in good spirits and is simply awaiting a procedure for kidney stones. Sister Freida also chimed in to clarify her earlier comments, saying, “Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.” She explained that her intentions were not to alarm fans but rather to express concern for her sister.

Dolly Parton, known for her incredible resilience and unwavering spirit, continues to be a source of inspiration for fans worldwide. As she gears up for her latest project with the Grand Ole Opry, the country music legend remains as vibrant and committed to her craft as ever.
