Aug 19, 2025 | News

In a spectacular display of unity and generosity, the ‘Band Together Texas’ benefit concert made waves over the weekend, raising an astounding $8.5 million for flood relief efforts. Held at the Moody Center in Austin, this star-studded event was a night to remember, bringing together some of Texas’ brightest stars for a cause close to many hearts.

The evening kicked off with a heartfelt introduction from none other than Matthew McConaughey, setting the tone for a night where music and philanthropy intertwined seamlessly. Headlined by country music powerhouses Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum, the concert featured a lineup that read like a who’s who of Texas music royalty. Performances by Wade Bowen, Ryan Bingham, Pat Green, and the Randy Rogers Band lit up the stage, each artist pouring their heart into their set.

Adding to the night’s allure, a cavalcade of famous Texans made appearances, including Hollywood star Dennis Quaid, former baseball legend Roger Clemens, and a host of University of Texas icons like Mack Brown, Vince Young, Colt McCoy, and Emmanuel Acho. Even Chris Harrison, well-known as the former host of ‘The Bachelor,’ joined the festivities, underscoring the widespread support for the cause.

Yet, amidst all the star power and performances, it was Cody Johnson’s soul-stirring rendition of ‘How Great Thou Art’ that left a lasting impression. His emotional performance struck a chord with the audience, leaving not a dry eye in the house and reminding everyone of the evening’s true purpose.

The funds raised will go a long way in supporting the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the Central Texas Community Foundation, aiding ongoing flood relief efforts. With $8.5 million and counting, ‘Band Together Texas’ not only provided much-needed financial support but also served as a poignant reminder of the power of music to bring communities together in the face of adversity.
